The Stamina InMotion e1000 compact elliptical trainer is one of the cheapest fitness machines on the market today, that offer elliptical motion. It's not an elliptical crosstrainer in a full sense of the term. It's more like a stepper designed to provide the user with an aerobic lower-body workout. During my review, I needed a few minutes to get used on the short stride length. It also took me a while to realize that it is necessary to find a way to balance. When I got the hang of it, everything was just fine.

A lot of buyers got confused with the name of this model. Generally, it is marked as InMotion E1000 55-1610 (black chrome), but if you want to buy InMotion E1000 in other color, the red one is sold under the name of 55-1602 (orange is 55-1603; pink is 55-1604, and so on). Anyway, it accommodates users up to 250 pounds (113kg). The resistance level can be adjusted with a tension knob. The elliptical is equipped with a simple LCD display. It tracks your exercise time, strides per minute, total strides and calories burned. You should not expect anything spectacular for the price - around $90. This compact fitness device is designed for light exercise, ten to fifteen minutes a day. For an additional $30 you can get a similar mini-elliptical trainer with handles.

Cons: A short stride length, but honestly, I didn't expect it to perform like a real crosstrainer.
